Jaguar service costs, intervals and service plans

A routine Jaguar service costs roughly £200 to £1,000, going by the model figures What Car? and Auto Express have published, and the heavier services later in the schedule can pass £2,000. The interval is two years or 21,000 miles, or 12 months or 16,000 miles, depending on the model and engine. You can use a JLR retailer or an independent specialist, and under UK competition rules an independent service that follows Jaguar's schedule with parts of matching quality does not in itself void the warranty.

Jaguar service costs and intervals by model

The figures below run from around £200 for a routine I-Pace service to around £2,100 for the ten year service on a later 2.0 diesel F-Pace. Jaguar sets each schedule by model, engine and model year, and treats every interval as a maximum.

Jaguar XE service cost and interval

Diesel XEs need a service every two years or 21,000 miles. For petrol cars the sources differ. What Car? gives a year or 16,000 miles (July 2025), while Auto Express says Jaguar moved the XE to two years or 21,000 miles across the board, apart from the SV Project 8 (June 2023). Auto Express put a routine service at £500 to £1,000, depending on engine and drive, and the much larger fifth service at £1,750 to £2,000.

Jaguar XF service cost and interval

Petrol XFs built from 2015 run on 12 months or 16,000 miles, and diesels on two years or 21,000 miles (Auto Express, November 2020). A typical service then cost £550 to £700, depending on the engine, with brake fluid due every third service.

Jaguar F-Pace service cost and interval

The 2.0 litre diesel F-Pace runs on two years or 21,000 miles, and the other mainstream engines on 12 months or 16,000 miles (Auto Express, December 2020). Auto Express quoted £640 to £1,900 per service for the 2.0 diesel, the top figure being the ten year service on cars built up to 2019, and about £2,100 for that service on later cars. The 2.0 petrol cost £420 to £1,650. Diesels also need AdBlue roughly every 12,000 miles.

Jaguar E-Pace service cost and interval

Every E-Pace needs a service at least every two years or 21,000 miles, and its condition based system can call for one sooner (Auto Express, March 2022). Auto Express listed three levels in sequence: minor at £345, intermediate at £467 and major at £695.

Jaguar I-Pace service cost and interval

The electric I-Pace needs a service every two years or 21,000 miles, and What Car? says a routine one generally costs around £200 (January 2026). The six and ten year services cost considerably more, because the coolant, brake fluid, gearbox oil and several hoses are renewed.

Jaguar F-Type service cost and interval

F-Types need a service every 12 months or 16,000 miles, alternating minor and major (Auto Express, December 2021). What Car? puts those at about £380 and £550 (May 2025), and Auto Express says the ninth and tenth services rise to £1,000 to £1,600. Automatic F-Types need fresh gearbox fluid every 70,000 miles.

Where to get a Jaguar serviced, and what each option costs

JLR retailers price each car by registration and mileage, fast fit chains publish from prices for their own schedules, and an independent specialist can quote against Jaguar's schedule for your car.

At a JLR retailer

At the time of writing, September 2026, Jaguar UK advertises a 48 point check between services for £99. Cars over three years old qualify for Jaguar's Beyond 3 programme at participating retailers, where prices use nationally agreed labour rates, engine oil prices and a 15% discount on genuine parts.

At a fast fit chain

One national chain lists a full service for a Jaguar from £246.95 to £311.95, depending on engine size, at the time of writing. Those prices follow the chain's own schedule, not Jaguar's. The two largest chains quote a service to Jaguar's schedule car by car, and both say they do not update digital service records.

At an independent specialist

Jaguar service plans: what they cost and cover

Jaguar does not publish service plan prices on its website. You get a quote online with your registration and mileage, or from a retailer, and the plan fixes the cost of your scheduled services for its term.

Jaguar UK says its plans are for new or approved used cars up to 10 years old, can be paid monthly or in one go, and can be transferred or refunded when you sell. The terms for plans bought since 1 May 2019 add these conditions:

• The plan pays only for the routine services in JLR's schedule, and you pay separately for extra work.

• The total includes a management fee.

• If the car goes in early, Jaguar can ask for an accelerated payment.

• If you cancel after the first 14 days, you pay for the services used plus a cancellation fee.

• Jaguar's authorised repairers do the work, and the balance can move to another Jaguar or Land Rover, or to the next owner.

What Car? says a plan covering five annual F-Type services costs up to £1,500 (May 2025). A plan suits an owner who will keep the car for the term and use Jaguar's network, and suits you less if you prefer an independent specialist.

What has changed for Jaguar owners since 2024

Servicing, warranty cover, parts and software updates carry on through JLR's retailers, but there are fewer Jaguar sites, so your nearest service point may now be a Land Rover retailer.

Jaguar stopped selling new cars in the UK from November 2024 ahead of an all new electrified range. Its UK ownership FAQs, checked in September 2026, say authorised repairers will keep servicing Jaguars and honouring warranty claims. A Range Rover, Defender or Discovery retailer can service your car, and a service plan stays valid at any retailer that services Jaguars.

The network is shrinking. Jaguar's UK managing director said in November 2024 that its showrooms would fall from 80 to around 20 from 2026 (This is Money). Land Rover owners share the same network, and our guide to Land Rover service costs covers their side.

Servicing a Jaguar at an independent garage: warranty and records

An independent garage can service a Jaguar that is still under warranty. The Competition and Markets Authority explains the UK Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Order in its guidance on motor vehicle agreements (June 2023). It says that tying a warranty to servicing inside the manufacturer's network, or to the manufacturer's own branded parts for work outside the warranty, is likely to breach competition law.

A manufacturer can still refuse a claim caused by faulty work or a faulty part from another supplier, so the garage must follow Jaguar's schedule and use parts of matching quality. Jaguar's plan terms also warn that missing service times and mileages may affect warranty cover. Safety recalls stay with the manufacturer, usually at no cost to you, and you can check a registration with the gov.uk recall checker.

Keeping the service history credible

Aim for an Online Service History entry where the garage can add one, and an itemised invoice every time.

• Check what Jaguar holds. Its Online Service History covers cars built from July 2013 that an approved service centre has seen.

• Ask whether your garage can add the service. Jaguar's terms say the site can include work by independent garages, while the largest fast fit chains say they do not update digital service records.

• Ask the garage that did the work to correct a wrong entry. Jaguar asks for evidence of the servicing before it changes a history.

• Keep invoices showing the date, mileage, VIN, oil and parts.

• Use the MOT history on gov.uk, which records the mileage at each test, to show that invoices and mileage line up.

Checklist: what a proper independent Jaguar service includes

The work should follow the schedule for your car's VIN, model year and mileage, not a generic interim or full service menu. Ask for these when you book:

• The items Jaguar's schedule lists for this service, written on the quote.

• Engine oil to the grade Jaguar recommends for your engine, and a new filter.

• Genuine parts or parts of matching quality, named on the invoice.

• Timed jobs that fall due, such as brake fluid, coolant or gearbox fluid.

• A diagnostic scan with equipment that reads Jaguar systems, and any fault codes explained.

• Use of JLR's own technical information. JLR sells independent garages subscriptions to TOPIx, which covers workshop manuals, electrical diagrams, technical bulletins and diagnostic release notes.

• A recall and service campaign check, by registration on gov.uk or by VIN on TOPIx.

• A question about software updates, which Jaguar's retailers carry out.

• A road test, the service indicator reset and a priced list of advisories before any extra work starts.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Jaguar servicing so expensive?

The bill depends on the labour rate, the oil and parts a Jaguar needs, and the timed jobs, such as brake fluid, coolant and gearbox oil, that land on particular services. That is why one visit can cost several times another. On an XE, Auto Express put a routine service at £500 to £1,000 and the fifth service at £1,750 to £2,000 (June 2023).

Can you service a Jaguar anywhere?

Yes. An independent service does not in itself void the manufacturer warranty, provided the work follows Jaguar's schedule and uses parts of matching quality. That is the position under the UK Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Order, as the CMA's June 2023 guidance explains. The manufacturer still fixes safety recalls, and you use a Jaguar service plan at its authorised repairers.

Do I really need a full service every year?

Not always. The 2.0 litre diesel Jaguars, the E-Pace and the I-Pace run on two years or 21,000 miles. Jaguar set the F-Type and petrol XFs and F-Paces at 12 months or 16,000 miles (Auto Express). Jaguar treats its intervals as maximums, so the car can ask for a service earlier if the way it is driven calls for one.

Does a Jaguar F-Pace or XF have a timing belt?

No. Auto Express says no F-Pace engine has a cambelt, and nor do XFs built from 2015. The XF does have a drive belt, due every fifth or sixth service depending on the engine. The XE, E-Pace and F-Type use timing chains too. What Car? suggests checking a four cylinder diesel F-Pace's history for timing chain work (August 2026).
